Torsorest update

The torsorest was originally invented by Gordon Hamilton. It is a device to make travelling, particularly flying long distances in ecomony, far more comfortable. There are many health benefits too – hence the name.

It is unbelievably comfortable, but until you try it, you will not know that for sure.

What was originally done

There was:

  • a company
  • patents
  • a design
  • business plan
  • marketing plan
  • mock-ups and a prototype
  • a BIS invention award
  • numerous studies
  • a website…
 
 

 

Update

The project was going well, but lacked two things:

  • Orders
  • Enough money to fund a production run.

 

So:

  • The money ran out.
  • The company was wound-up
  • The patents expired
  • The website was closed.

But:

  • The idea remains,
  • There are still mockups, the prototype, designs and studies
  • There is a large opportunity.
 
 

What Next?

The idea is too good to do nothing. It would be good to see the misery of cramped flights alleviated.

There are no sacred cows. I am looking for any suggestions.

 

  • One solution might be a manufacturer looking for something to produce,
  • another might be a team and investors wanting to pickup where we left off
  • Or advice
  • Or just encouragement
